ceans are one of the primary indicators of a warming planet, as they take the burden of absobing much of the heat that is generated. This heat is making life difficult for coral reefs, and while coral has shown to have the ability to recover from partial bleaching, if the coral completely dies, the reefs essentially become a barren place, with little to offer the fish.
